Vote Liberal Democrat on the 7th May 2026

21 Feb 2026

Removing the failed Conservative administration from power at County Hall is the urgent focus of Liberal Democrats in Hastings and Rye when voters go to the polls on 7th May.   Party leader Ed Davey launched the Lib Dem campaign to evict them last Wednesday, 18th February, pointing to the party’s big success at the General Election when Sussex elected five Liberal Democrat MPs, and its position as the largest opposition party on both West and East Sussex County Councils.  Local Party President Paul Hunt said, “At a time of increasing anger and understandable frustration with both main parties, the classic Liberal values of respect for individual diversity, social justice, environmentalism and internationalism are needed more than ever. Every vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote for these values and a vote against the self-interested Tory-Reform politics of blame, social division and further social inequality.”
